DID YOU KNOW?
U.S. Book Sales Report from Sir Speedy Whittier

In 2004 there were 195,000 new Trade Books published in the U.S. with a grand total of 1.1 million titles. This does not include the 500 million books published in the U.S. without an ISBN number.

Of all books printed, 60% will never sell!!!

The average production per title is 2,500 copies. 75% of books published sell less than 500 books per year. 50% of books published sell less than 250 books per year. Average annual sales are approximately 300 books.

The average book sits on a shelf for 5-10 years.

If a Publisher sells only 40% of the stock of a book, it costs the Publisher 2.5 times the price of the book.

Based on these statistics, Bayard/Twenty-Third's publications are way better than average!!!

Pot Luck
We are planning a Christmas Pot Luck Luncheon on Wednesday, December 20th. Sign up sheets are at the mailboxes.
