The kitchen schedule for the month of December has been distributed to the mail slots.

AND, I want to wish a very special Happy Birthday to Dan Smart. Dan, we haven’t seen you all day. I have a feeling you’re hiding in your office today.

From Dan Connors
Hubert, David, Didier, Kathleen, Dan, and I want to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. May all who are traveling do so in safety and without traffic jams. May the love expressed around your tables be full and strong.
Thank you all for the great work you do. In anticipation of the holiday, we'll be closing the office at 3 today.
Dan

Book Prices
There seems to be some confusion about the price of two new books. They are incorrect on the new book order form. The correct prices are:
12.95 You Are My Friends
8.95 Have Faith

Also, Everyday Epiphanies is now sold out.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

A holiday message from Hubert:
Dear friends, I wish you and your families a joyful and blessed Thanksgiving!
Hubert

Message from George
On behalf of St. Patrick Parish, the Community Service Committee, and myself, I wish to take a moment of your time to say thank you for your donations of canned goods for our Thanksgiving Baskets (boxes). We ended up with 139 boxes. Again thank you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless.
George

Cold Season
Many of us are sneezing today. It’s a good reminder to wash our hands often. It’s especially important to reduce the spread of germs for Cheryl and Betty’s sake.

Soda Machine
The soda machine currently will not accept $1 bills because the receptacle is jammed. Kerry has been trying to contact Vern to come and clear out the machine but has been unable to reach him or anyone at Coke. The machine will still take quarters.

Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Oh, Heavenly Father,
We thank thee for food and remember the hungry.
We thank thee for health and remember the sick.
We thank thee for friends and remember the friendless.
We thank thee for freedom and remember the enslaved.
May these remembrances stir us to service,
That thy gifts to us may be used for others.Amen

Breves Survey
Inside the envelope with the most recent issue of Breves is a four-page survey. Not all questions are applicable to us, so feel free to skip those. Please complete these surveys and give them to me so I may mail them all together to France.

Time Clock Machine
As you may have noticed, a fancy time clock machine has been installed near the computer room door. We’re not ready to use it just yet, but more information will follow.

Thanksgiving Donations
George is collecting canned goods for 133 families through St. Patrick’s Parish. The food will be distributed to Alliance for the Living, DCF, Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, and St. Patrick parish. They would be happy to receive these specific items only: canned peas, corn, string beans, cranberry sauce. There’s a box near Judy if you’d like to make a donation.

Who’s In, Who’s Out
Kathleen is still at Bayard Paris and is expected back to the office Monday. Dan Smart should be in around 1:00 today. Didier will be here Monday-Wednesday next week. Kathleen will be in NY next Tuesday.

Bill’s Mail
Bill has requested that we remove his name from his mail box and starting today put all his mail in Dan Smart’s box.

You'll receive soon a "Breves survey- tell us what you think!" for all the people who receive Brèves, the group's in-house newsletter. It is very important to have impressions, criticism, satisfaction, so we can better respond to your needs... The finding of this survey will be printed in a future issue.

Who’s In, Who’s Out
Dan S. and Kathleen are at Bayard Paris attending the board meeting. Will return to the office Thursday or Friday.

Hello everyone! I’m sure by now you’ve heard the news, that I’m stepping down as President at 23rd.

As you all know, I have been commuting from our home and farm in northern Minnesota to the company offices here in New London. This commute has proven to be very difficult for me and Mark. We find that we have declining and disappearing social connections in both of these ports: in our parish and town, in the arts and local politics, in our longstanding commitment to the poor of Guatemala, and most importantly, with our families and friends. We spend a lot of time moving between New London and Pine City and not enough time living in either place.

And because of my strong support and long relationship with Twenty-Third, and my relatively short tenure as President there, this has been a very difficult decision for us. Nonetheless, it is now decided that I will return to being a part-time senior advisor to Twenty-Third, as I was before taking on my current role. This will be effective November 15. I continue to support all of the work Twenty-Third is doing in today’s church, and will still be a big part of that. The good work we’ve been doing will continue uninterrupted, and even more strongly as we add a new leader to our team.

Under the new arrangements, I will be self-employed again, working from the farm in Minnesota, traveling only occasionally to New London, or to events and conferences. I will also be able to more freely accept invitations to advise, teach or lecture on Vatican II, lifelong faith formation, and whole community catechesis.

I continue to have strong support and enthusiasm for the mission and the people of Bayard Inc and Twenty-Third Publications, as well as for the work of publishing high quality, affordable resources with which to provide lifelong faith formation in the church.

My Minnesota address and phone are the same as always:
Bill Huebsch
9980 Wildflower Rd
Pine City, MN 55063
612-384-5456
BillHuebsch@aol.com

I’m so grateful to you all for the friendship and support you’ve shown me this year. I’ll miss you very much!

Blessings to you and to your loved ones…
blessings for your work…
and for our church,
Bill
