Margaret brought donut holes for all of us. They are in the cubicle across from Sue. Help yourself, but they're going fast. Thank you Margaret. You're fitting right in!

Update on Lise
Lise called me this morning to say she is experiencing some pain and has a terrific headache most likely due to caffeine withdrawal. She stood up twice yesterday but hasn’t yet attempted to walk. She is a little pale and her doctor ordered a blood transfusion. If she does well she may be able to go home as early as Monday rather than going to a nursing facility for rehab. Here’s her address if you’d like to send her a card:

Update on Lise
I just spoke with Mark Zanghetti, Lise-Marie’s husband. Mark reports that Lise is out of surgery and doing well. The operating physician noted that surgery took less time than first thought, only 7 hours instead of 9 hours, and that the procedure went smoothly and that the prognosis for fully recovery is “excellent”. Lise left surgery at 1:30 pm – the surgery began at 6:30 am – and Mark expects to see her within the hour.

Supply Closet
Karen has graciously organized the supply closet and many duplicate supplies have been found. Please use care when returning items and try to put them with similar items already there rather than just placing them anywhere.

Message from Lise
I will be undergoing a back operation to correct the problem I exacerbated back on June 30th. The Neuro surgeon will clean up the area agitating the nerve bundles at L4-L5 and S1 than the Orthopaedic surgeon will put a cage in place which involved 6 screws and four metal rods along with a fusion material made up of some of my removed bone material (grown up) with a powder composite material which will put between L4 and l5 as allow for eventual regained disk space, Currently L4 and L5 are bone on bone.
The operation is expected to between 6.5 and 9 hours. Mark and Jessica will be bringing me to the operation at the designated time and will remain at the hospital until they can see my post operative success, expected hospital stay 5 to days, then a decision will be made as to my going to a rehabilitation facility or coming home.

I have given Sue Cameron permission to update my progress on the blog, she will be kept updated on a daily basis.

Please keep me in your prayers,
Lise
